Millionaire’s Bacon

By Sophie Tuan

Everyone loves bacon. How could you not? The satisfying crunch, intoxicating smell, and exquisite balance between fatty and savory. It’s impossible to not love bacon. But what if you could take this addictively delicious food and make it perfect? Introducing millionaire’s bacon, the divine combination of sweet and savory. The extra crisp maple coating will have your mouth watering and your ears satisfied.

How to make Millionaire’s Bacon:

  1. Individually place thick cut bacon slices onto a tray covered with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 425°F degrees for 25 – 35  min. Bake until medium crispy.
  1. After removing the tray from the oven, pat the bacon dry and brush a thin layer of bourbon maple syrup onto the individual pieces of bacon on both sides.

Tip: Use paper towels to pad bacon dry and dump the oil

Tip: If you want a little spice sprinkle chili flakes on bacon after syrup has been applied

  1. Put the bacon on a newly lined pan and bake 225 degrees for 10- 15 min

Tip: Elevate the bacon on a wire rack so that the air circulates on all sides, allowing the maple syrup to crystalize.

  1.  Take out and cool before serving. Allowing the bacon to cool allows the maple syrup coating to set.

Eat and enjoy!
