On November 5, Latinos Unidos built and set up an ofrenda out in the quad. An ofrenda is a traditional Mexican offering that is set up for Dia de los Muertos. Ofrendas commemorate ancestors who have passed with photos and their favorite food, beverages, and items, and are believed to be the welcoming spot to reunite the living and the dead. The cempasuchil flowers ( marigolds or orange flowers displayed) are believed to guide ancestors to their ofrendas.
