An iconic mini-movie, A Charlie Brown Christmas, usually appears every December in elementary school classrooms accompanied by holiday parties and joy. Despite being released in 1965, the 30-minute family film still holds an abundance of charm and nostalgia nearly 60 years later. No matter the season, the short film provides a wave of happiness to the audience and puts everyone in the merry holiday spirit.
Fortunately, we had the pleasure of watching the iconic film during class together and thoroughly enjoyed it. We collectively agreed that our favorite scene was when all the characters came together to sing. Their voices evoke a feeling of spirit and make you want to sing along. Also, the animation is breathtaking. The contrast of a dark night sky to the colorful Christmas trees is a stunning view. In addition, we also loved Charlie Brown’s short weak tree that could only hold one red ornament. It was a hilarious touch. The soundtrack by Vince Guaraldi Trio perfectly captures the Christmas spirit. From songs like “Skating” to “Christmas Time is Here,” the whole soundtrack makes you feel warm and cozy. The mini-movie is a 10/10 for its colorful animation, humorous jokes, and playful plot.
No matter the weather, time, or place, A Charlie Brown Christmas always leaves you feeling content. We strongly recommend anyone to indulge in the short film because there is no doubt that it won’t warm you up and put you in the mood for the cozy holiday season.
