Jolie Briseno is a stellar star student on and off the field! Besides playing field hockey, Jolie also partakes in LIFE crew, CSF, the Campbell Youth Commission, and other various clubs on campus. Outside of school, she enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, playing with her dog Max, crocheting, playing her instrument, and taking care of her various plants (or learning more about moss). Not to mention, she also loves hanging out with her friends and informing them about her new insect fun facts.
What is your favorite thing about field hockey?
I love how team-oriented the sport is and that a lot of my good friends are on the team. I also love meeting new people!
What are you looking forward to this season?
This season I’m looking forward to our tournament and our game against Gilroy.
What is your favorite position to play?
Left mid, my first position ever. I fell in love because you could use channeling. I was put in my first-ever game with Hailey Kearns and Grisel Guzman on my side.
Do you have a favorite pre-game or post-game snack/meal?
My favorite post-game snack is watermelon and a smoothie. My smoothies always have yogurt!
What is your favorite field hockey tradition?
My favorite tradition is secret sisters! It is something I always look forward to and I love getting to know my sister and talk to them through notes. I also love team bonding and being able to just chill with the team.
Favorite hype song?
“Hey You There” by Soulja Boy but I also love “Are You Ready for it?” by Taylor Swift.
If you could choose any animal to transform into while playing a game, which one would you choose and why?
Gazelle! They have a lot of stamina and are quick. For mid-field, you need both of those qualities.
