Let me paint you a picture. It’s a beautiful fall Friday and the bell signaling the end of school rings loudly. Students rush past, trying to get to the student parking lot, bike racks, and theater loop as fast as possible. You’ve just finished a day filled with your hardest classes, but you understood all of the content you learned and even had time to joke around with your friends after finishing your work. Quickly, you join the swarm as you too begin leaving school, queuing up a playlist of your favorite songs. You turn the volume up and just melt into the instruments. The sun shines, making the hallways warm but not too hot, and a breeze flows through, just light enough to be felt but not mess up your hair.
It’s a Friday, you realize. Your next thought? I don’t have any homework. For some reason, your teachers had decided this week they were going to hold every test imaginable, and you’d spent the entire previous weekend prepping for them. All the worksheets given post-test you had time to finish (and turn in!) during class, all projects were due last week, and you’ve already submitted all the canvas work due in a few weeks. Suddenly all the stress is gone—you’re free. You’ve made it through the week. Over the weekend you have no homework, whatsoever. Plans with friends have been scheduled, alarms have been turned off, and life is finally good. Finally you can enjoy the beautiful fall weekends without worrying about what assignment is due. Life is perfect.
