As summer approaches and the weather becomes progressively warmer, the need for cute summer outfits arises. As someone who loves toasty weather, I have a variety of ideas for cute clothes to wear when it gets hot. I will be listing some of my favorite outfits below!
- Basic Black
Despite the fact that black isn’t a color typically associated with summer, when used in moderation, it can create some great outfits. My favorite way to style black is to take a simple black crop top, jeans (or jean shorts), and some colorful jewelry. To make the outfit more cohesive, I like to match the color of my shoes (typically crocs) with the jewelry. If you don’t have any colorful jewelry, using a black shirt with little splashes of color (such as pink writing) also works beautifully.
- Pretty Pink
I love wearing pink! I think the bright color fits the vibe of all seasons, so making a pink outfit for summer is a must-do. Unlike black, when wearing pink I like to overpower the outfit with it. I start with a pink crop top (typically plain pink with no patterns), then add a pair of ripped jeans or jean shorts (if they are loose I like to add a pink belt), and finally accessorize with gold jewelry. Of course, I also wear my pink crocs — but any pink shoe would work— if you don’t have pink shoes, then white shoes will work as well. If it is a bit chilly, or if I just feel like it, I also add a white cropped jacket. Once the outfit is all put together, I will sometimes add pink hair clips, but typically I leave it as it is.
- Beautiful Blue
Although I love pink, my ultimate favorite color is blue! When wearing blue, it can be hard to find pants that match (especially since I mostly wear jeans), but it’s not impossible. Typically, when I wear a blue top, I like to pair it with sweatpants, but during the summer, sweatpants are way too thick to wear. Instead, I still wear jean shorts, but I make sure that the jeans and the top are on opposite ends of the blue spectrum. For example, I like to pair a navy blue shirt with baby blue jeans or jean shorts (or the opposite: navy jeans with a baby blue top). Then, I add white or gold jewelry, white shoes, and a white cropped jacket if it’s a bit cold (or the morning). Lastly, I put everything on, and admire myself in the mirror.
Although all colors look great during summer, I personally prefer blue, black, and pink as my go-to colors to wear. If you are looking for new outfits to try, then be adventurous and wear one of mine!
