Wrestling is hands down one of the hardest sports at Westmont. Whether it be cutting weight through excessive diet and cardio, conditioning in hot gyms and weight rooms, or wrestling with people bigger than you, no one does wrestling better than senior Moses Blanco. Here’s an exclusive interview with the amazing athlete himself.
How long have you been wrestling?
I have been wrestling since 5th grade.
What weight class do you wrestle in?
This year I am wrestling at 157lb weight class
Do you play any other sports, and if so, what other sports?
I also do Football and Track and Field
What’s your favorite memory?
My favorite memory from this sport is making it to the finals of Bvals my Sophomore year
Who would you thank for your success?
I would thank my coaches for never giving up on me, my friends for always being there for me, and my brother for always having my back. I would especially like to thank my dad, because without him I would not be anywhere near where I am today.
What are your goals for your sport?
My goal would be to make it into the State Championships, and hopefully place.
Where do you plan on going to college?
Unless I go somewhere specifically for wrestling, I’m most likely going to De Anza.
Will you play your sport in college?
If I have the opportunity to wrestle in college, I will take it.
What’s your favorite post-match meal?
My all-time favorite post-match meal would be a Pb&J sandwich.
