Gypsy Rose Blanchard

By Nadia Rivas

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released on December 28 from the Correctional Center, where she served eight years out of ten for conspiring to kill her mother with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn. She has since reunited with her husband and family. Over the past weeks, Blanchard has been released,  not much time has gone by that her life hasn’t gone undocumented. Whether it’s a social media outlet or her posting her slayful selfies on Instagram, she’s made several posts showing off her newfound freedom and her new look and even her walking the red carpet for her new docuseries. Although she spent eight years in solitude. she doesn’t seem to be shying away from the spotlight. She has been in various interviews and news outlets expressing her newfound freedom and we’ve recently learned she doesn’t play around when it comes to her husband Ryan Anderson. In one of his recent posts on Instagram, many people made rude remarks towards him, and Gypsy clapped back at the haters with “Ryan, don’t listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me. We do not owe any more. Our family is who matters. If you get likes and good comments great, if you get hate then whatever because THEY DONT MATTER. I love you. Besides they are jealous because you are rocking my world every night…yeah, I said it, the D is fire, Happy wife happy life.” He then replied with “Who said I give a damn about what these jealous people say anyway, Haha…now come get it, Baby…”. She has also come out and said she loves Taylor Swift and the first thing she wanted to do when she got out of prison was to go to a  Kansas Chiefs game to see her. Although it seems like she’s had a blast with her docuseries she goes into detail about her addiction to painkillers in prison and how when she arrived in prison it felt like more freedom than she had ever had. She also reveals that she regrets going through with the plan of killing her mom. She says that during the time frame of the murder she hid in the bathroom and covered her ears so she could block out the noises of her mother’s screams. There was a moment when she thought it was over and she unplugged her ears and she heard her mother scream “GYPSY HELP ME”.  Which she says still haunts her, she also says that it didn’t have to go through like that. She acknowledges there were other things she could’ve done. She now has eight years of experience to make up for and she doesn’t seem like she’ll be slowing down anytime soon.
