Feel The Rain On Your Skin

For the last few years, the world has been sold short of a charming, funny, yet sometimes jaw-dropping rom-com. Anyone But You directed by Will Gluck provided the rom-com the world has been short of for the past decade. Main characters Bea and Ben, played by Sydney Sweeny and Glen Powell, put on a show that either had everyone laughing or crying tears of happiness.

Following what seems to be a nice first date, a miscommunication makes Ben and Bea despise one another. Having to travel to Sydney, Australia for the wedding of Bea’s sister Halle and Ben’s friend Claudia complicates matters. Their friends scheme to bring them together since Claudia and Halle think their arguments will cause her wedding to be ruined. They soon discover that Bea’s parents have brought her ex-fiance Jonathan as well as Claudia’s cousin Margaret, whom Ben used to date. The two decide to comply with mostly everyone’s wish to get together and act like a couple so that Bea’s parents will back off getting back together with Jonathan and Margaret will realize that Ben still likes her.

After multiple embarrassing attempts to get the others to notice them, Ben and Bea begin to show evidence of genuine affection, but another misunderstanding leads to them fighting once more. Bea witnesses Margaret and Ben sharing a kiss at the wedding. Observing their fondness for one another, she decides it would be best to leave in order to avoid starting another fight. Ben understands that Bea is the one he truly desires at the same moment he shares a kiss with Margaret. Ben searches for Bea where he knows she will be by causing an extravagant scene. He confesses his feelings for Bea when he sees her in the Sydney Opera House where she reveals she feels the same. With the chemistry and charm between the two main characters in Anyone But You, the movie should definitely be considered the rom-com of the decade.
