Valentine’s Day is not a top 3 holiday when you are single. It does suck to be alone, but, take advantage of this! You are alone and can watch whatever film you want. Here is a list of some films that may make your Valentine’s Day more enjoyable or significantly more miserable. Pick your poison.
- La La Land (2016)- This movie is not ok to watch alone, or at all for that matter. If you do not shed a tear throughout the duration of this film you are not normal. This film is perfect to watch alone, only because it will rip you to shreds (perfect for a lonely Valentine’s night in). In the beginning, you will envy the main characters Mia and Sebastian; but by the end, you will be content with the fact that you are lonely. This movie is an excellent year-round choice: 10/10, bonus points if you watch it single and alone on Valentine’s Day (11/10).
- Valentine’s Day (2010)- This movie is about a bunch of people who are in love, some break up, some last. It is a funny, down-to-earth movie, and the cast “goes crazy.” Overall, you don’t need to think about being in love, you just need to stare at Patrick Dempsey and Taylor Lautner whenever they are on screen. Also, Taylor Swift is featured and she ate up her role. I have no complaints. Hate will not be accepted. This is just a silly goofy movie. (13/10 [bonus points for Swift])
- Sweeter Than Chocolate (2023)- This movie sucks. It will make you so happy you are not in love because this is a bad example of it. (0/10)
- When Harry Met Sally (1989)- I cry every time I watch this movie, but this is beside the point. I advise you to watch this movie because it will remind you to raise your standards. Do better. (8/10)
- Titanic (1997)- A classic. This is what happens if you fall in love. You will die in a tragic shipwreck. Don’t do it. Is it really worth it? (7/10)
No Hard Feelings (2023)- YES!!! The resurgence of the best movie genre; the comeback of Rom-Coms. This movie was so good. Due to the age gap between the main characters, this movie seemed way less sad to watch. Compared to the typical 1990’s boy meets girl, they fall in love-type film. (8/10)
