Girls Volleyball Set to Succeed!

Want to see a Westmont team filled with dedicated players, immeasurable talent, and endless spirit? Join the crowd at a girls’ volleyball game! With impressive stats so far of 16-6, the team has an exciting end of their season to come.

Senior Marina Halbert has enjoyed the season so far. You can find her on the courts wearing a number 12 jersey and a cool hairstyle, as well as cheering in support of her teammates.

“We started off really strong and we’ve just been growing from there,” Halbert explains. She also appreciates the diversity in grades on the varsity team, with the youngest player being a freshman: “We all have a lot to learn from each other.”

The team not only consists of a great group of girls, but also is dominating at recent tournaments. In the Watsonville Tournament in early October, the team earned second place and a plaque!

Senior and Captain Keira De Vita has pride in her team. She also has noticed her own skills improving this season!

“I feel I have gotten significantly more efficient at blocking,” De Vita explains, which she notes as one of her favorite parts about volleyball.

Catch the girls volleyball team at their next game, October 24, which is also their Senior Night!
