Over the summer, Westmont High School lost a beloved teacher Daniel Coonce. Coonce taught classes in the “Project: Lead the Way” pathway, engineering-focused courses, and math. He was an invaluable mentor for the Westmont Arrowbotics team, using his engineering degrees to assist the robot-making process. Not only was he good at calculations, but his curious brain led him on extraordinary journeys around the globe. During Coonce’s memorial, his siblings recounted his free spirit that led him on great biking trips across Europe and Northwestern America. They remember him for his kindness, always putting his family first. Daniel Coonce was not only an amazing teacher, but a reliable and thoughtful person. Westmont misses him dearly.
