The name Diego Mantelli brings to mind a simple bucket hat and loud floral shirt accompanied by wire rimmed glasses and cargo shorts. A down-to-earth farming enthusiast, Diego has a practical but colorful style that goes well with his kind yet passionate personality. While working at the restaurant Mohi, Diego may not serve food but he certainly serves looks. Constantly rising above the crowd with his superb fashion sense, Diego leaves everyone constantly wondering what inspired his style – and what gave him his confidence.
What are 3 words that describe your style?
Loud, flamboyant, and flamingos.
Do you have any fashion icons?
No, I’m trying to blaze my own trail and create my own sense of fashion.
What is your favorite item in your closet?
Probably my flamingo shirt – the flamingo shirt.
Where do you buy your clothes?
A lot of TJ maxx! I’m (also) starting to go to REI more, and Amazon has been my number one source for online shopping – (they have) good deals and one day shipping, it’s pretty good.
What’s your favorite fashion trend?
Fanny packs, but not across the chest – around the waist. I think they’re making a comeback.
And your least favorite fashion trend?
Solid colors, any piece of clothing that costs more than 100 dollars and isn’t a suit or a dress, and ripped jeans!
Do you have any fashion tips for fellow warriors?
Don’t be ashamed of what you wear, and don’t listen to Owen Andersen. I’ve dressed like this before he even thought about it. This is my fashion.
