Fashion icon and senior here at Westmont high school Maria Edirisinghe walks the halls with some of the most extraordinary and iconic outfits.Whether she wears a beautiful lace trimmed shirt, green cargos or low rise jeans, she never walks out of style. Maria first got into fashion and was inspired most by the characters from the tv show she watched growing up, Total Drama Island. Below is an interview with the fashion icon herself!
When did you first get into fashion?
I’m not sure exactly, but I think it was inspired by the characters I saw growing up when I watched Total Drama Island hahah!
What are 3 words to describe your style?
Vintage, lace, swag.
Where do you get most of your clothes?
Anastasia’s vintage or any thrift place nearby.
What completes an outfit?
I just like shiny things, so I’m always wearing rings.
Do you have a fashion icon?
Probably Aaliyah!
Low rise or high rise jeans?
Low rise!
What is your least favorite color to wear? Why?
Hot pink just because I don’t think I pull it off, but there are so many other people at this school who can and I love to see it.
What is a trend you love?
Big pants, little shirt.
Most overrated fashion trend?
MSCHF Big Red Boots. Those terrify me.
Favorite closet pieces?
My big green cargos, flare jeans, and any of my little tops with lace trims.
Most prized closet piece?
Nike Cortez’s.
