(As of April 16)
Despite the competition season coming to an end with Nationals happening in February, Westmont’s cheer team has not slowed down. Entering stunt season, the athletes must learn 18 routines—six partner stunts, pyramids and tosses, along with jumps & tumbling—which they then perform head-on-head against opposing teams. Hoping to withhold their impressive record so far of 4-1 (having lost only to Branham, their biggest rivals, in a thrilling face off), the team continues to perfect their skills for the last two games against Palo Alto and Sequoia. Simultaneously, both returning athletes and newcomers prepare for tryouts on April 21, which will determine next year’s sideline and competition teams. Despite the school year reaching its final stretch, Westmont’s cheer team never stops.
