Starting out the season hot, Westmont softball is number 3 in the league with an overall 10-5 record and 4-1 league record. Before the break, the team won against a challenging component, Willow Glen. Pitcher Bella Andrade threw an outstanding game, having 7 Ks and no runs scored. Furthermore, Bella had a crucial hit, leading the Warriors to a 3-0 win. Warriors defeated another challenging opponent, Live Oak, with a final score of 4-1. Elise Roy pitched an outstanding game only allowing the Lady Acorns to score 1, allowing Westmont to secure the win. Westmont also crushed Pioneer with a score of 13-3. The bats came alive for the Warriors as they had a total of 10 hits and 13 runs. In a close battle against Santa Teresa, the Westmont Warriors unfortunately lost 6-4 to the Saints, but they put up a fight.
Currently the team is in good standings to make it to CCS again for the third year in a row, needing only four more wins to secure their spot. With this being the last year for many of the girls, the team has the eyes set on another chance at a CCS title. Coming up the Warriors have a busy schedule playing only two more home games and eight more away games. On April 27, the Warriors play Leland and celebrate their senior night where they will honor 10 talented seniors! Furthermore, the team plays their last home game on May 4! Be sure to come out and support your Warriors!
