Best Uses for Each Sauce in the Cafeteria

By Olivia Pocat

Soy Sauce

Best when poured onto the orange chicken and rice specialty meal or the everyday teriyaki chicken option. Senior Amelia Lipcsei, interestingly enough, created a delectable concoction when pouring the soy sauce onto her sweet potato fries in the unavailability of ketchup.

Ketchup

The cafeteria Heinz ketchup packets can be eaten with almost any meal in the cafeteria. I have thoroughly enjoyed using ketchup to elevate chicken burgers, veggie burgers, or even normal burgers! As well as with the chicken strips and fries.

Mustard

The mustard doesn’t seem to be a very popular sauce packet in the cafeteria. I, however, enjoy mixing it with the ketchup and mayo to create a yummy special sauce, as mentioned in my article “The Perfect Sauce Combo.”

Mayonnaise

The mayo, is again, not a very popular sauce, but I like to include it in my special sauce combo to eat with burgers or chicken tenders.

BBQ Sauce

I like eating the barbeque sauce with the special “rib sandwiches.” The BBQ compliments the smoked meat perfectly.

Ranch

The ranch compliments the carrot sticks perfectly, with the hummus bowl, or even poured into the salad of your choice.
