Stunning Sophia Orr

By Nupur Kudapkar

Sophia Orr is a current junior at Westmont and aside from being a very good friend of mine, she has a wide range of talents that never fail to amaze me!

What activities do you do at Westmont?

I’m actively involved in theater which tends to take up most of my time, but when I’m not at theater I try to attend baking club meetings and GSA meetings.

What do you enjoy about each of these activities?

For all of the activities I participate in, or at the very least try to participate in, there’s an amazing community of caring and wonderful people which makes me feel happy and comfortable. In theater, I get to explore acting as a career path and learn how to produce theatrical pieces which I really enjoy. A thing I like about baking club, aside from the amazing treats, is learning new recipes that club members have brought in for the baking days. In GSA, I really like how they bring up real world politics and news that has recently affected the community and how comfortable the environment of the club is.

What are some of your hobbies/things you enjoy doing outside of school or in your free time?

Outside of school, I like to work on music and cooking. In terms of cooking, I mostly like it because I don’t trust the rest of my family with seasoning things. In terms of music, I play 3 ½ ish instruments, and take singing lessons, and then I also try to write songs; recently my schedule has been packed though.

Favorite thing about Westmont?

One thing I like about Westmont is the friends I’ve made here. It’s been a bumpy road with Covid and readjusting back to a normal school life, but the friends I’ve made here have made that transition a million times easier. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
