Jefe the GOAT

Coaches often have a large influence on the general morale and success of their team. Jim “Jefe” Marquez cares about his softball and football athletes, both on the field and off, ensuring a positive environment. Jefe is never afraid to impart gracious wisdom and commentary to his players. 

What activities do you do at Westmont? 

I coach both football and softball here at Westmont. 

What do you enjoy about each of these activities? 

The kids bring me a challenge day in and day out. It brightens my day. 

What are some of your hobbies/things you enjoy doing outside of school or in your free time?

Watching my grandkids play their sports, and playing golf. 

What’s your favorite thing about Westmont? 

The students themselves. 

What’s one last thing you want to share? 

I enjoy Westmont. I’m an “Average Joe.”
