Knocking it Out of the Park

By Lauren Marino and Rachel Walker

The boys baseball team looks to hit a homerun this year and win the league. So far the team is off to a great beginning with a 2-1 start, with their last win being 12-3. The boys have a promising season ahead of them. The team is made up of three seniors with the majority of the team being made up of juniors and sophomores. Although changes have been made to the lineup position-wise, the boys show great promise. They look forward to having a good season, with a goal of making it into CCS. To get more insight, we interviewed baseballs starting shortstop and senior Drew Paxton

Drew Paxton has been playing baseball his whole life. He started Varsity sophomore year. Sophomore year he won defensive player of the year and Junior of the year. He is most excited to spend his last year in high school “with all of my(his) fun teammates.” A challenge some of the players face is having self-confidence. “You can’t beat yourself up after one mistake,” he says, “because you are always in the next play.” Fans should expect a good season from the boys with a fun environment. Rocking their favorite uniforms of white, they always make sure to indulge in candy before every game. The team has a strong bond, since most of them have been playing together since they were ten. There are many opportunities to watch the boys play so be sure to check out the boys play on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with their first league game on March 14!
