The Ring of Fire

By Collin Murray

One of the most glaring musical red flags to me is if a person’s response to my question “what type of music do you listen to?” is “anything but country.” Sure Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs may not be for everyone; I happen to quite dislike this type of modern country pop music myself. But classic country music: Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, and the man in black Johnny Cash, has stood the test of time and will always prevail.

Johnny Cash is a particular classic that will never be forgotten. From hits like “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” to his electric and out-of-the ordinary concert performance for inmates at the Folsom State Prison, Johnny Cash was truly a man of the people. He is  one of the most influential and respected artists of all time, and will be denjoyed for many years to come.
