Ever curious about life beyond Earth? On August 5, 2012 at 1:32 a.m. EDT, NASA’s Curiosity Rover landed on Mars! Just two months ago, the incredible machine celebrated its 10th birthday. Known for its adorable, yet heartbreaking singing of Happy Birthday to itself, the lonely robot has gathered quite a fanbase back at home. Though NASA intended the rover to last only one Martian year (687 days for us Earth-dwellers), Curiosity has defied all odds. Now going on greater than quintuple its expected lifespan! It looks like Earth might not be home for this old space-car after all; it’s made itself pretty comfortable out there on the dusty Red Planet.
