A three minute drive, and one mile from the Westmont campus, Sorelle is as local as you can get. The Italian bistro is a family owned and operated business, and their food encapsulates their tireless dedication to their customers. Immigrating from Tricarico, Italy in 1956, Francesca Rude, proud founder of the prospering business, has dedicated her establishment to celebrating her heritage. Currently, Rude’s three daughters follow in her footsteps, making authentic Italian dishes and running what is perhaps the best Italian restaurant in the Silicon valley (or in my opinion, all of America).
As a frequent customer to Sorelle (which translates to “Sister” in Italian) I guarantee that their services and food are paralleled by no other restaurant. My grandmother was Italian and my great grandparents were Italian immigrants—when it comes to Italian cuisine, trust me, this place is as close to her cooking as I’ve tasted. Unlike many other restaurants, when you walk in, the entire space emanates the Italian energy and culture other commercialized restaurants lack—delicious food and vibrant conversations with family and friends are integral to all Italians. In your first steps warmth, loud laughter and the clinking of glasses and cutlery reverberate throughout the space. Although reservations are advised due to the numerous people scrambling for an evening in the company of Sorelle’s delicious food, the wait is well worth it. With impeccable, well seasoned dishes and kind staff, you will find yourself having an amazing time, leaving with a full stomach and peaceful mind. Whether you’re craving pizza, pasta, lasagna or just some time with your family, Sorelle’s is an exemplary destination for a fulfilling dining experience.
