Boys Tennis

By Olivia Pocat

The Westmont boy’s tennis team started the season off strong with a win against Branham. Since then, the tennis team has defeated Leland, Prospect, and Santa Teresa. The seemingly unbeatable team still has a long season ahead of them, hopefully full of more wins and victories against their fierce competition. Paul Slaverio, head coach, has high hopes for his team. Even after the temporary execution of Jeff Poppinga as head coach, the team was able to push through and continue winning. Team member Shaan Kohli is excited for the rest of the season, saying “the team has bonded well and we all like each other and are excited to have fun this season”. The ten varsity players have worked hard since preseason to get ready to win the league. The team has high prospects, “hoping to win league”, stated by Doubles 3 player Maxime Pocat. Come support Westmont boys tennis at their upcoming home games on Thursday, March 24th versus Leigh and Thursday, April 14th against Evergreen Valley.
