Starting off the season strong with a record of four wins and two losses, the boys varsity baseball team is ecstatic for the upcoming season. While team captains remain undecided, returning senior Kobe Gong states “the team is young and I’m excited to see them grow, everyone’s commitment to the team is outstanding and we’re all really close.” With clinch wins against schools such as Lynbrook and Milpitas, Westmont currently sits at the top of the standings for their Santa Teresa league, closely tied with Evergreen Valley. Junior Nick Woods is currently leading the team at the plate, with an excellent current batting average of 0.5 and an on base percentage of 0.591 as of March 14. Fueled by a strong team camaraderie and some impressive talent on the field, the boys look forward to a successful and exciting season. Don’t forget to come out and support the boys at their first home league game on March 24 against Piedmont Hills at four!
