Their first year in the A League, Westmont Badminton has started off strong. Winning both of their first games against Leland and Independence, the team is gearing up for an exciting season. Most of the amazing playing stems from the amazing coaching. Sophomore Rina Weaver gloats, “I love Sugi! She’s so sweet and so kind, and is the right amount of strict!” Being her first year playing badminton, Coach Sugimoto (Sugi for short) is a wonderfully supportive figure, guiding her players to excellence.
But, nothing can overstate the amazing job done by the captains this year. Seniors Sean Bae, Lindsey Lee, Miranda Billawala, and Ren Lan Liang have worked hard to cultivate a caring and uplifting environment.
