Valentine’s Day Movies to Watch or Not to Watch

By Laila Barboza

Ladies and gentlemen, Valentine’s day is coming up, and whether you like it or not, it’s coming to stay whether you hate or love it. So here are some sappy movies to watch on February 14th.

The Notebook: Another classic very long movie. I think The Notebook will forever be my pick before Titanic.

Titanic: A classic this one is a no-brainer if you want to be sobbing on your pillow, watch this one by yourself or with a s/o.

Always Be My Maybe: This one is definitely one of the cutest love stories on here. It is the perfect rom-com to watch when you feel like you will never have love in your life. This film has a funny, contemporary, and uniquely tender take on the friends-to-lovers formula. The genuine sweetness and humor of this film will have you rewatching it on the couch every Saturday night.

Just Go With It: One of my favorite rom-coms has a great storyline and if you don’t like Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston then I don’t know what to say.

Love, Simon: This heartwarming romance is filled with humor in the characters, dialogue, and circumstances. However, it does not abandon emotional depth. The humor and emotional depth compliment each other perfectly.

The Sun is Also a Star: The pacing is quite quick, but overall this movie will warm even the coldest of hearts. If you enjoy a good book to sit by the window and read rather than a movie to watch, I highly recommend the book. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon is beautifully written and contains an unforgettable romance.

Up: A classic Pixar movie this one gets me every time. If you haven’t watched this one watch it right now.

She’s The Man: Another rom-com that I personally think is more comedy.

A Cinderella Story: A newer classic.
