Club Focus: Baking Club

By Olivia Pocat

One of the newest clubs on campus this year, the Baking Club gives  talented high schoolers an avenue to bake and share delectable goods. Every month, the students have a new delicious type of pastry to make. Participants bring their baked goods to the club, and everyone else tastes their yummy creations. The club focuses on helping students improve their baking skills, pointing out common mistakes made when making different types of baked goods, and discussing how to correct these mistakes. The type of deserts they bake every month is different. The first month was cookies, followed by brownies, and then pies. Junior Avalon Kelly loves the baking club, exclaiming “Baking club is such a fun group! I love the opportunity it brings for students to experiment with baking, get tips and advice on their treats, and try others’ baked goods!”. Club president Annie Carter declares “We strive to make the Baking Club an inclusive space for new and experienced bakers to come together and share our love for baking!” Baking club has a great atmosphere, and if you want to learn how to become a great pastry chef, come to the next meeting!
