Cassandra Claire: Best Author of All Time?

By Amelia Lipcsei

Cassandra Claire, author of the New York Times bestselling series The Mortal Instruments, took the world by storm with her first publication: City of Bones. Packed with action, filled with unique characters, and created with extraordinary attention to detail, City of Bones starts off the incredible series with a bang. Following the storyline of Clary Fray, a girl who discovers that she can see magic that others can’t, the first book launches into an intricate plot filled with loopholes and unexpected twists. With six books in the original storyline, and over eight other books from separate time-lines, the series continues to expand, growing more and more popular each day. Recently, Claire released the newest addition, Chain of Iron, to the addicting fantasy array, adding yet another incredible point of view to the mix.

Although the entire fantasy world that Claire brilliantly created remains unfinished, with more books expected in the future, a new book titled Sword Catcher has been announced to release in 2022. Starring a boy born to rule, a girl destined to return magic, and a deceitful prince, the novel features drama, action, and fantasy. Astoundingly, Claire’s newest releases only continue to get better and better as time passes. The immense improvement from her already phenomenal first book to her most recent works remains unparalleled. A prodigious author, Claire already has New York Time’s approval, and the approval of millions of fans; I highly recommend reading any of her books, especially The Mortal Instruments series.
