An Evening With Silk Sonic, the debut album of duo Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. With 9 tracks, Silk Sonic’s debut album received No.1 on top of the R&B/Hip-Hop album charts, with only 31 minutes of sound. On November 29, 2021,the album reached No.3 on Billboard’s Top Current Album Sales. Bruno Mars has always been a fan of R&B and old Hip-Hop, demonstrating his admiration through his older work like, “That’s What I Like” and “24K Magic.” Bruno decided to recreate similar rhythms from the 70s and 80s within the new album as well. With a challenging task on his hands, Bruno Mars called up his friend, Anderson .Paak to help him recreate the similar tunes from back then. From drums to vocals, the album was in the works for a while, from pushing back dates to completely redoing their tracks. Bruno claims producing the album was extremely difficult to recreate similar rhythms of the past, leading to the point where the band almost split up entirely, due to the differing opinions on “Leave the Door Open.” In the end, the album was worth the extra retakes, as many critics and fans of both .Paak and Bruno were amazed at the recreation of the similar vibes, rhythms, and blues from the 70s. The album provided such wonderful melodies from the old days, and every aspect of An Evening With Silk Sonic was done extremely well. Albums generally tend to have at least one song on the album which listeners dislike, but for Silk Sonic’s album, every track reaches a new level of excellence. Let’s hope for more tracks from Silk Sonic in the near future!
