With seven games behind them and six league games left, Westmont’s varsity volleyball team is ready to turn their record around! So far, the team’s record is zero and seven, with three of those games being league. At their most recent match, Westmont lost only zero to three against Branham. Despite volleyball’s rocky start, the girls have been working hard and are ready to attack the second half of the season. According to junior Jaden Pestana, “We’ve had some tough practices but we’re ready to destroy the rest of the season!” Senior captain Sydney Fan attributes the beginning of the season to a lack of support from the school wondering, “where them warriors at?” Make sure to attend the team’s next game on October 14 at Leigh High, when they face up against a highly revered team. You can also bring some moral support to the next home game on October 21 when the girls rematch against Branham!
