Summer provides the perfect opportunity to make some extra cash. However, maintaining a stable job while balancing other responsibilities and fun is a difficult task. Many common jobs for teens are in the retail or food industry and require somewhat long shifts and non negotiable hours. These jobs are difficult for students wanting to spend their summer traveling, playing sports, or spending time with friends. Fear not, there are many part time or independent jobs for teens that have flexible schedules.
Some of the most entertaining and rewarding summer jobs are coaching or teaching. Parents looking for some extra practice for their young kids will often hire older teenagers. If you are skilled in sports, music, or academics look out for kids who would like to learn from your expertise. Not only will the job be beneficial for the student, but you will also be able to make money doing something you’re good at and enjoy.
Along with coaching and teaching, flexible jobs also include online independent contracting. From home, jobs such as ads specialist, translators, tutoring, and app testing can all be done. Not only can they be completed in the comforts of your own home, but these types of jobs can also be done on whatever schedule you create.
Although slightly unorthodox, these independent jobs provide for flexible income while still creating the opportunity for an enjoyable summer.
