College Focus: University of Oregon

You can always find flockings of ducks by the Willamette River, because the home of the ducks, the University of Oregon, is just a walk away. The small town city life of Eugene, Oregon is just a drive away from the Pacific Ocean or the Cascade Mountains.  The University of Oregon is full of things to do from locally-owned shops and restaurants to plenty of scenic sights for a quiet studying spot. Transportation is as simple as walking or using UO’s shuttle, which allows you to enjoy the large and lush parks which surround the campus. 

UO has boundless opportunities with nine schools and colleges to navigate your career exploration beyond college. UO is also proud of the various clubs and organizations which bring the large student community together. there are more than 300 student groups to take part in, including sororities and fraternities as well as the Associated Students of the University of Oregon (ASUO). Did you know ducks can play sports? At UO, ducks are offered to participate in 40 club sports or 17 NCAA sports, which have won them 24 national championships. You may even see a duck do a push up after a touchdown at the Autzen Stadium.

Within the 331 degree and certificate programs, Oregon Ducks excel in Business, Political Science, and Psychology. The 20 U.S. Representatives, 8 Senators, and 7 governors, alum of UO, can attest to the School of Law’s resounding success. In the classroom, the student to teacher ratio of 16:1 creates close and deeper-level connections. You may step beyond the classroom and study abroad; however, you might miss out on being taught by Nobel Prize winners and Olympians who teach as UO The 84.2% acceptance rate allows the acceptance of around 21,800 freshmen every year, many new students entering with a 3.6 GPA.
