Wynd Festival 2021

By Ben Wynd

With Coachella 2020 cancelled and concerts seemingly gone forever, I’ve been thinking a lot about artists I want to see live. Coachella’s lineup had some of my favorite artists, and it’s a shame the festival was cancelled, however I’m hoping writing about my dream lineup will manifest my perfect concert into the world for 2021. My first artist that I would like to see perform would be Doja Cat. Her confident presence would start off this lineup with a bang and with hits like “Go To Town” and “Like That.” Next, I would slow it down a little bit with a performance from Tame Impala. “Borderline” and “New Person, Same Old Mistakes,” have become personal favorites and are just the groovy hits needed for my lineup. I would keep the groove going with a performance by one of my favorite artists of all time, SZA. Any song from her 2017 album, Ctrl, would be perfect for the flow of my concert. Returning to rappers, I feel like the high energy music from Playboi Carti would be a perfect transition from SZA. Enjoying his music came as a surprise to myself, but Die Lit and his self titled album have easily become two of my favorite albums. Who can resist the infectious beats of “Mileage” and “Location”? The final act would have to be a performance from my most played artist of 2019, Charli XCX. Her transition from basic pop to experimental bangers has created the perfect discography for live performances. The addictive glitchy beats on “Click” and the heavy beat of “anthems” would be the perfect closer to my dream night.
