As Kendyl Brower’s personal chauffeur, I had no escape from the blasting of Taylor Swift in my car–It was inevitable and unavoidable. Driving around Seniors Hailey Abdilla, Kendyl Brower, and Lindsay Der, I found myself rolling my eyes at the screaming screeches to “Lover.” It wasn’t until one dreary, rainy afternoon that Kendyl brought me to understand the Swiftie mentality.

On the way to our favorite late-closing cafe—Crema—Kendyl eagerly insisted on getting aux, and breathlessly screamed to the lyrics of “the lakes.” At first, I reluctantly refused—as I always did—but once I took in the precious melody and heartfelt lyrics, which complimented the gloomy day, I finally fathomed the hype of T-Swift.

Diving deeper into my T-Swizzle fandom, I created a playlist titled, “Kendyl and Hailey did this.” Surprisingly, as my shortest and most recent playlist, it currently holds the number one spot out of dozens of playlists. Unlike my past mistakes, I highly encourage you to leave the radio station alone when the legendary Taylor Swift takes over.
