Trader Joe’s Mini Canvas Tote Bags By Season

By Rosie Lu

It seems like just yesterday the first Trader Joe’s Mini Canvas Tote Bags were released—but either way, the lines we see for every seasonal drop are just as long as the first. Now let’s see, which tote gets my vote? Here are all the mini tote drops ranked from least to most loved.

Halloween “Trick-or-Treat” – Fall 2025

For such an unworkable color palette, Trader Joe’s did as well as it could have. Unfortunately, the orange, neon purple, and tri-color contrast combo are nearly impossible to wear outside of the tote’s intended season. The neons simply just clash so unpleasantly—perhaps why a few could be spotted at any local Trader Joe’s even a week after the collection’s release!

Original – Spring & Summer 2024

It’s been a while since these hit the market, but there’s a color in this collection for everyone. Something about the navy and red especially just feel so timeless, perfect whether taken on a farmer’s market run or to a sunny beach in Santa Cruz.

Striped Pastel – Summer 2026

This drop brought us the best hues—seafoam teal, dusty pink, mauvy tan, and baby blue—arguably so, at least. The only tidbit keeping this collection from the number one spot is the stripe pattern, which sort of detracts from the “Trader Joe’s-iness” of the design.

Pastel – Spring 2025 & 2026

With this collection, we have a beautiful robin’s egg light blue paired with radiant teal, the color of the year, as well as lavender purple coupled with ballet pink. Each color pair can match into a set—the Trader Joe’s logo being the opposite color is truly the cherry on top. The vast majority agrees, so much so that the pastel totes saw a second release in Spring 2026.
