When it starts getting cold outside, Trader Joe’s shelves start looking a lot more empty, especially in the soup section. From classic tomato soup to seasonal Pumpkin Bisque, the grocery store has turned soup into one of its cold-weather staples.
Trader Joe’s currently carries a variety of soups, including Chicken Noodle Soup, Italian-Style Wedding Soup, and Organic Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Soup. But some of the most talked-about options are the seasonal ones, which come around when fall approaches.
One of the seasonal soups is Pumpkin Bisque, a creamy soup made with pumpkin purée, heavy cream, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Trader Joe’s describes the soup as a seasonal favorite that has returned by popular demand. Another fall option is Autumnal Harvest Soup, which combines butternut squash, pumpkin, and tomatoes with rosemary and sage.
My favorite way to enjoy Trader Joe’s soup is to add my own flair. My personal favorite is the Pumpkin Bisque; with chicken added, it’s divine. Another way to enjoy Trader Joe’s soup is with a good side like garlic bread or crackers.
For shoppers, the thing they love most is that most of these options require a little more than heating and eating. Whether someone wants a quick lunch, an easy dinner, or something warm on a chilly afternoon, Trader Joe’s has made soup a surprisingly easy comfort food.
With seasonal flavors appearing and temperatures dropping, soup season is officially here.
