On a football field, you may pay attention to the dazzling speed of the wide receiver, or the calculated progressions of the quarterback, but nothing compares to the absolute demolition that Dash Stout provides on defense. As the anchoring linebacker on defense, Dash flies across the field for every play, having no moments where he’s not involved. Against Independence High School, he had 16 tackles. This season, he has 40 Tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and a fumble recovery. Dash is the heart of this team, and he is the main reason our defense has stayed strong. I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Dash several times, but he never received the recognition he truly deserves until now.

I interviewed Dash after the Overfelt game at home, and I was enamored with his thoughts:
What makes you love football?
“The contact. No other sport has the physical element that football has.”
Who inspires you most?
“My brothers. I’m the youngest of 3 boys, and I’ve always looked up to them.”
Do you think we can rally back and make the playoffs?
“It would be extremely difficult.”
