If you’ve ever heard someone say “skibidi,” “sigma,” “rizz,” or “six-seven” and had absolutely no idea what they were talking about, you’re not alone. “Brainrot” has become a way to describe the constantly changing slang, memes, phrases, and inside jokes that spread across the internet. This article explains some of the popular most-used terms, what they mean, and our personal rankings.
- Verity — A variation/meme use of “verity” online, often used as a name or random brainrot reference rather than for its normal meaning of “truth.” Its meaning depends heavily on the specific meme/community.
- Larp — Pretending to be someone or something else, usually in an exaggerated or unrealistic way. Online, it can mean someone is pretending to have a certain lifestyle, personality, or experience.
- Fairs — Used as a meaning that “it’s wraps” or “its over”. When you says fairs it generally means you give up.
- Mogging — Showing that you are superior to someone else, often in appearance, confidence, or performance.
- Lowkenuinely — A combination of “lowkey” and “genuinely.” It means you actually or genuinely feel something, while still making the statement sound casual.
- 6-7 (six-seven) — A viral phrase/meme that is often intentionally used without a specific meaning. People may say “six-seven” as a joke or reference to the trend.
- Rizz — Short for charisma, one’s ability to flirt or charm another.
- Blackpill — A community that is centered around the belief that one’s appearance affects romantic relationships.
- Chud — An insulting internet term for someone portrayed as an obnoxious, unpleasant, or an extreme person. It is generally used as an insult rather than a neutral description.
- Glaze — To praise or compliment someone excessively, especially when the praise seems exaggerated.
- Italian Brainrot — Meme content that focuses on absurdity featuring AI generated characters such as Tralalero Tralala and Ballerina Cappuccina.
- Sigma — A meme poking fun at individuals who are nonchalant/independent.
- Tweaking — An individual acting irregular, often used when someone is overreacting/ thrown around playfully.
- Skibidi — Originated from “Skibidi Toilet” a viral Youtube channel, has no specific meaning, funny due to the insanity of it all.
