We all crave a slice of Little Caesar’s pizza every now and then. The delicious dough and perfect toppings are irresistible. But their amazing quality pizza isn’t the only reason this restaurant chain is superior.
#1: The Little Caesar’s Love Kitchen
Back in the 80s, hunger and natural disasters were massive problems, but Little Caesar’s knew that one good deed could save countless lives. In 1985, the Little Caesar’s Love Kitchen was born, a food truck that serves delicious pizza to people in need and supplies towns hit by natural disasters with provisions. Any time someone suffered from starvation, the Love Kitchen sped to the scene to make sure no one went to bed hungry. The Love Kitchen has fed nearly 4 million people across the United States and Canada, and continues to make a difference today after 40 years. But that’s not the only act of selflessness that came from this pizza joint.
#2: Providing refuge for Rosa Parks
In 1994, Rosa Parks was assaulted and robbed in her house in Detroit. Little Caesar’s founder Mike Ilitch knew it was unsafe for her to stay put, so he secretly paid for a new home for her until she passed away 11 years later, expecting nothing in return. This selfless act was kept secret until Ilitch’s passing in 2017.
The generosity of Little Caesar’s has had an unforgettable impact on the world. Millions of people are safe today because of the actions of this pizza chain. So the next time you grab a slice of Little Caesar’s, you can feel good knowing that the hands that made it are the hands of heroes.
