Roaming the halls of Westmont, dressed head to toe in 2000s styled layered clothing is fashion icon Lauren Hellen. Most people crack under the pressure of choosing an outfit for school, but Lauren, on the other hand, takes getting dressed in the morning as an opportunity to showcase her spunk and creative side through extraordinary styling. Looking through Lauren’s closet as an average dressed person might be like witnessing the Aurora Borealis, a breathtaking spectacle where unique colors overtake your sight. On the daily, Lauren strides through the corridors, flaunting her unique style and excellent model walk, continuing to rock the tank top, leggings, and vintage zip-up combination. She claims she developed her strong sense of fashion simply because she didn’t want to be “a loser and get judged” or be perceived as “uncool.” Below this introduction is an interview with Westmont’s biggest diva, Lauren Hellen.

How would you describe your style in three words?
Layered, pink, and I try to be 2000s, but I don’t think I succeed.
Who is your fashion icon?
2000s Britney Spears.
What’s a go to item in your closet?
Cotton On jean shorts.
Where do you get most of your clothes from?
Aeropostale, Hollister, Cotton on, on occasion Brandy, and if I’m feeling super niche, I’d thrift (that doesn’t happen often, though).
What fashion trend do you hate?
I might get some hate for this, especially from people at our school, but sagging pants. Please pull them up.
What’s a fashion trend you love?
Give me a well done modern Japanese gyaru, 2000s Megan Fox, and y2k.
What’s your inspo?
2000s movie stars but I’m too lazy to pull that off 99% of the time.
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
20-30 minutes for the full thing, outfit around 10-15 minutes.
Do you have any fashion tips?
I don’t really have any fashion tips. Just wear what you feel confident in.
If you could wear one color for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I could only wear one color for the rest of my life, it would be different shades of brown.
