Top 5 From Cloud 9

By Penny Nunes

For Christmas this year, I surprised my best friend, Kaia Costa, with VIP floor tickets to see Megan Moroney. At the time, I didn’t listen to her that much, however, in order to prepare for the concert I started listening. I fell in love with her music, it was SO GOOD. Every lyric was relatable and felt like she was reading my mind. Here is my ranking of the top 5 songs I heard live that night.

  1. First up, “Change of Heart,” this song speaks to me in so many ways. It gets me all up in my feels, while also being upbeat and giving me the chance to DANCE! 10/10 would listen again 🙂
  1. Second on the list is “Beautiful Things,” this was one of the first songs I heard from Megan (don’t diss me, I know her old songs now)! The way she is singing it to every person in the crowd makes each of us feel seen. It feels like an older sister comforting her much younger sister.
  1. Oh, I can’t forget about “Wedding Dress,” another relatable and heartfelt song. This one not only gets such a high ranking because of the incredible lyrics and relatable story, but also because of how Kaia and I got to hear it together. Holding each other while crying and singing word for word was a different kind of therapy.
  1. Up next is a classic, “Break it Right Back,” and oh my gosh, THIS ONE!! WOW. Absolutely amazing. This one came as a shock to the both of us, we did not know she was going to play it. I was jumping, screaming, smiling, crying, feeling every single emotion during this song and I could not be more grateful.
  1. And finally in the top five we have…”Liars & Tigers & Bears” This song is MY song. I feel like it is the most underrated song she has. Hearing this live was such a unique experience, much different than my car speakers!

Making this top five list was hard, since I loved all of the songs so much. I’m so grateful for this experience and even more so for being with my best friend during it.
