Have you ever stared endlessly at that curious plane of reflective glass? Maybe you were trying to fix your look prior to an important event. Perhaps you were vigorously performing your daily skin care routine. Or maybe you’re a really huge narcissist—I don’t judge. I do however judge the carelessness and disrespect with which frequent mirror users abuse their powers. You see, the mirrorlings put in so much effort to assist us, and to visit the mirror constantly for an impractical reason is to disrupt the mirrorlings’ slumber.
Mirrorlings are quite simple in concept: when no eyes are on a mirror, the mirrorling returns to its default state: an amorphous blob of glowing matter. Mirrorlings thrive off of our own self-absorption and self-loathing. As soon as they make contact with a human vessel, they immediately morph into an exact replica of the user. By providing the user with exaggerated feelings of confidence or doubt regarding their appearance, the morphling will feed off of the human’s energy, which allows them to return home to their family of amorphous blobs after a long day’s work.
The most tough and hardworking mirrorlings typically live in areas like dance rehearsal halls. In these mirrors, many mirrorlings coordinate a plan to each represent a different dancer. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to keep up with the humans? Mirrorlings must be really talented to be able to accomplish all of that.
As you can see, mirrorlings are just like us. Next time you look at a mirror, remember that a mirrorling is counting on you to provide it enough energy to feed to its family. Don’t stay in front of it too long or else you’ll keep these little creatures from returning home, where they’re truly happy. One last thing: there’s a popular rumor that mirrors function on the basis of rays of light reflection off of the glass surface, however this theory is completely debunked because I have never in my life seen a ray of light look anything like a human. Mirrorlings are 100% proven to have the ability to transform into a human. Just try to disprove that.
