BTS Concert (a.k.a. best night of our lives)

By Lucky Felder and Haley Kim

It’s safe to say that we both agree that the BTS concert was the best night of our lives. By the end of the night, our throats felt like sandpaper, and our faces were bright red. The following morning, we felt that awful post-concert depression and prayed to rewind the day over. So, to cherish the memories we made that day, here is our hour-by-hour schedule, including getting ready and our reaction to the surprise songs!

Step 1: Getting ready at Lucky Felder’s house

Although this part of the day was super hectic, with Haley Kim arriving less than an hour before departure, we had fun experimenting with different makeup and accessorising our outfits!

Step 2: Trading freebies with other fans!

Arriving three hours before the concert, we walked around the outside of the stadium, chatting with other fans and trading different goodies like photo cards, bookmarks, and candy! The hour flew by, and it felt like we were barely standing in line before getting admitted.

Step 3: Waiting in the plastic seats, while each minute felt like an hour

This was the worst part of the concert—the waiting. We were admitted into the stadium so quickly that we had so much free time. The lines for all the food and the bathroom were crazy, so we just sat in our seats and waited the whole two hours out. While we occasionally got up to trade some more goodies, every minute waiting felt like a whole hour.

Step 4: Scream your heart out for the rest of the show

The very first moment when you see all the members walk out to the stage was the most exhilarating feeling of our lives. We immediately danced and screamed, and the rest of the hours flew by. Everything felt like a blur, but by the end, it felt like getting off of the most exciting roller coaster of your life!

Step 5: Our favorite part of the entire show

Oh my goodness, the way we both looked at each other instantly with our jaws dropped when the surprise songs came out. Let’s just say, our reaction was not subtle.  It was everything we could’ve asked for, playing “Dope” and “Blood Sweat & Tears,” some of our favorite songs by BTS. This was the part where both of our voices were on their last straw; by the end, we couldn’t even hear our own voices.

By the end of the concert, we were so exhausted that we all passed out in the car ride home. We stopped by Taco Bell on our way and had a messy meal in the car. The entire ride, we replayed all our favorite songs and dreamed about our once-in-a-lifetime experience only moments earlier. I don’t know what amazing nights might come later, but it’s safe to say that for now, this was the best night of our lives.
