I found four types of cheeses in my fridge, and I have created a ranking to decide which is the best out of my limited options.
- Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese
When I first looked at this cheese, I thought it would taste like regular parmesan. I was wrong… in a bad way. This cheese just melts on your tongue, but in a terrible and awful way that leaves a horrid aftertaste. It’s a mixture of bitter sourness and I truthfully believe it’s expired. Awful experience, 3/10. It could have been worse, but it’s for sure not something I will ever eat again.
- Trader Joe’s Graded Parmesan Cheese
I will admit, I am not the biggest fan of parmesan, every experience I’ve had with parmesan cheese has been less than satisfactory. However, this one wasn’t that bad. This cheese is bland, tame, and has the flavor of nothingness. I appreciate this cheese, it would go perfectly on a salad. 6/10, way better than the one before this.
- Essential EVERYDAY Mexican Style Four Cheese Blend
Amazing, absolutely perfect, no notes. This cheese is the perfect mix of cheesy and dairy-ness while still not being overpowering. My only complaint is that some shredded cheeses have a weird powdery taste, this one does as well. Overall, a classic, very basic, and very delicious cheese. As a kid I would devour straight bags of these for lunch, brings back great memories. 8/10, love her but she’s a little basic.
- OLD CROC Variety Pack – a variety pack of cheeses with three flavors
1 – Medium Chedder
Terrible, absolutely terrible. I had to take a solid five minute break before trying the other cheeses because of this one. The smell is so pungent, the flavor is horrible, it tastes like eating a sweat-soaked sock that’s been sitting out in the garbage can for a month. Genuinely disgusting, I almost threw up. -10/10, I would never eat this cheese again.
2 – Bacon and Jalapeno
Redemption Arc! This one was actually pretty good, it was a good mixture of bacon and spiciness. I dislike that the spice stayed in your mouth after you finished the cheese, though. I had to take a water break, but overall this was good cheese. 7/10, I would eat another bite with some crackers.
3 – Roasted Garlic & Herb
I don’t have much to say about this one. The taste was okay, it was bland and it sort of tasted like nothing. It wasn’t very cheesy, so I’m not sure how to feel about it. 5/10, simply because it was just mediocre.
- Trader Joe’s Mini Brie Bites
I think I could literally eat a million of these and love every bite. Mini Brie bites are always in my fridge, they are my holy grail. A world without them would be a world without me, 10/10.
