Asiago Bagels

By Juliette Guyman

Asiago bagels are the secret to my happiness. Every single morning, I am blessed to have a perfectly toasted Costco Asiago bagel with cream cheese to start my day, and I would not have it any other way!

For those who do not know, an Asiago bagel is simply a regular bagel with generous amounts of Asiago cheese pockets embedded inside, as well as piled on top, forming a perfectly golden crust once baked. Asiago cheese is an Italian cow’s milk cheese and is often described to have a sharp, toasted flavor. Particularly after toasting the bagel, the cheese forms the perfect crunch and the most satisfying savory flavor. I would highly recommend over-toasting your bagel for the best experience.

Although I love Asiago bagels, one dilemma I constantly find myself encountering is that only the top half of the bagel is abundant with cheese. This is very problematic because when I only want to eat half of a bagel, that means I either have to enjoy the half with cheese and cause myself misery the next time I want half of a bagel, or suffer through eating an insufficiently “cheesed” bagel. In a perfect world, Asiago bagels should have plenty of cheese on both sides.

I’m sure some of you are asking, but what if I don’t eat breakfast? Luckily for you, Asiago bagels make the best snack any time of the day, as well as mouth watering lunchtime sandwiches. Ultimately, there are unlimited options of what you could layer into your Asiago sandwich, but my personal favorite is cream cheese, lox, and cucumbers. If you are looking for more bagel-sandwich variety, Saratoga Bagels has a wide selection of bagels, including Asiago, as well as many different sandwich fillings. Enjoy!
