Just Keep Swimming

By Juliette Guyman

The Westmont Warriors swim team is heading into their final league meet of the season. With six meets under their belt, the team captains, Kelsey Yang and Timmy Giampaoli, feel confident that their team is trained and ready to compete at their final league meet, BVALS, on April 30th through May 2nd. Last year at BVAL Championships, the men placed 2nd with 505 points, and the women placed 7th with 333 points, but the Warriors are hoping to put in their best effort and beat their scores from last year. After BVAL Championships, the Warriors have the opportunity to compete at Central Coast Sectionals starting May 7th and continuing through May 9th in the select events they qualified for during their league season. Thus far, girls varsity has qualified for CCS in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, and the 400 Freestyle Relay; the boys have qualified for the 200 freestyle relay and are working towards qualifying for the other two. In addition, swimmers Hailey McDonough, Arlen Correa, Juliette Guyman, Safiya Nguyen, and Alexander Strots will be swimming individual events at CCS alongside the team relays. Come support the Westmont Warriors Swim Team at BVAL League Championships and Central Coast Sectionals to finish out their season!
