8 Fantasy Football Season Awards

By Henry Hansen

With the Fantasy Football season coming to a close, there have been players who have stood out from the crowd, the best of the best, the award-worthy competitors. eight awards have been given in this article, and each of them is highly deserved.

MVP

Christian McCaffery

With the most fantasy points out of all players, Christian McCaffery is the easy MVP. He had only one performance under 10 points, and he leads the season points category by 41.6 points. He never missed a week, and he also consistently put up 20+ point games.

Rookie of the Year

Jaxson Dart

Jaxson Dart was the highest scoring rookie this year despite playing only starting in week 4. His points average was 17.4, and he put up multiple 30-point performances. Despite having 3 horrendous performances and missing weeks 11 and 12, Jaxson Dart has been the highest performing rookie. He has had over 25 points in four weeks and 20+ points in three weeks.

Surprise of the Year

Trey McBride

Trey McBride only dipped below 10 points two times this season, and has never dipped below five. Last year, he scored only 132.2 points; this year, he more than doubled that number. Being a late 2nd to early 3rd round draft pick, Trey McBride overshadowed all expectations. By doubling his points last season, he easily became a first-round draft-level player.

Comeback Player of the Year

Brock Purdy

Brock Purdy was out for nine weeks of the NFL season and only played in nine games. Despite this, he has become the 23rd overall leader in quarterback points. In weeks 16 and 17, he posted back-to-back 30-point performances; in week 15, he also posted 26 points. His comeback from injury has been an amazing feat this season.

Steal of the Year

George Pickens

George Pickens was usually drafted in the 5th to 6th round, and he produced the 5th most fantasy points by a receiver this season. Pickens had multiple 30-point performances and averaged 17 points per game. For a 5th to 6th round pick, George Pickens is the equivalent of finding diamonds in the rough.

Bust of the Year

Justin Jefferson

The quarterback-proof player was, in fact, not quarterback-proof. With the horrendous season that J.J. McCarthy had, Justin Jefferson was left without help or a competent player to throw him the ball. Drafted as the WR2, Justin Jefferson dropped to 21st in points for wide receivers. His title is not his fault, but he must be named “Bust of the Year” in this list.

Most Inconsistent Player of the Year

Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel earned this title by either scoring around 20 points or below 10. He has had only 2 performances where he has scored just over 10. He is the ultimate “Boom or Bust” player. He either scored high or left fantasy owners questioning why they even started him in the first place.

Playoff MVP

Chris Olave

Chris Olave earns this title by ascending to another level during weeks 15-17. He was a solid receiver for the regular season, averaging 14 points per game during weeks 1-14. However, in the playoffs, he averaged 27 points per game. This is the highest points average in the week 15-17 span. Chris Olave was a massive reason for many fantasy champions being crowned.
