Running Wilde, a 2010 sitcom starring Will Arnett, follows a spoiled company heir as he attempts to win over his former high school girlfriend. A truly underrated masterpiece, Running Wilde juxtaposes the lives of the protagonists, Steve and Emmy, as the audience witnesses Steve’s extensive, lavish life, and Emmy’s humble, environmentally-focused one. Although short lived (only 13 episodes), the show’s excellent writing, unordinary circumstances, and comedic timing make it a perfect, lighthearted watch. The exaggerated performances, unexpected narration, and satirical nature contribute to the overall excellence. The humor and fourth-wall breaks give the show a distinctive voice. Dealing with topics including privilege, poverty, love, and family dynamics, Running Wilde is the perfect family show.
