Finally, after 8 years, A$AP Rocky has dropped a new amazing album: Don’t Be Dumb. Featuring Brent Faiyaz, Doechii, Tyler, the Creator, Westside Gunn, and many other promising artists, Rocky’s album seamlessly balances diverse genres in a single piece of work; genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, Indie, and jazz intertwine perfectly throughout. The use of many different styles not only showcases Rocky’s musical talent but also keeps listeners entertained. Some of my favorite songs include “DONT BE DUMB / TRIP BABY,” “STAY HERE 4 LIFE,” “AIR FORCE (BLACK DEMARCO),” and “ROBBERY.” Released as a snippet on Spotify, the intro to “DONT BE DUMB / TRIP BABY” opens with jaw-dropping production and evokes a feeling of levitating. “STAY HERE 4 LIFE,” featuring Brent Faiyaz, switches Rocky’s genre from Hip-Hop to more R&B.
